NIZUC Spa by ESPA

NIZUC Spa by ESPA has opened today and this resort and spa is truly an exceptional experience. Las Brisas Hotel Collection developed this flagship property to launch their new luxury NIZUC Resorts & Spa brand.

The location is so desirable that this stretch of the Riviera Maya coast has been renamed Punta Nizuc. Juan Carlos Alvear and his team at Diseño Arquitectónico came up with distinctive architecture and Alejandro Escudero is to be thanked for the dramatic residential quality of the interiors. The Spa’s thermal suites are truly unique – laurels go to Design for Leisure. All of this combined with ESPA products, treatments and service – what more could you ask for?

The concept I created for this 30,000 square foot, ocean-front spa was developed as a series of individual buildings linked by covered patios set in a natural coastal landscape. Careful attention to sight lines and circulation ensure a sense of total privacy as you move through the spa, and natural breezes and sound of the surf are a constant connection to the Sea.

In addition to the 9 individual treatment cabañas and two luxury suites, the spa offers an open air café, a two-level fitness studio, a movement studio and a hair and nail salon. The separate male and female thermal suites are centered around dramatic hydrotherapy pools enclosed in double height stone walls and outdoor courtyards link to the steam room, sauna, solarium and plunge pool.
